So to be clear. It might be just a bit of grease, dirt or something interfering with the reading of the disk. I think that is what it was called and had another question about it and didn't get to post it and thought the dust cleanup would have been problem free. Plus, I downloaded that Cobian backup.

If you know how much RAM you have, it will display it on the screen before XP tries to load. It could be that your other software cleaning tools really whacked the ntfs.sys file.
