Today I ran MCREPAIR.EXE from a recent post I found, which replaces oleaut and some other dll's with earlier Win 9X files. Before that, the old Matlab installation had to be removed. Sometimes it worked OK sometimes HP Director went on strike for no apparent reason. The uninstall.exe was giving the above error message.

I also updated the MS java machine Everything works OK now except I cannot initiate a scan from the front panel of the G85. None of the newer pc's including the laptop I got from Dell today have the Java Virtual Machine. It is one of the utility related to operating system and is used by many of the software's during installation.

Previous versions of XP seemed to have : the Microsoft VM (java) and I have never encountered any : java issues with older systems with XP that originally : only had If no MS copyright, delete it.
