Sorry, Scanner could not be initialized.(Scanner not found.) I went to the control panel, printer & other hardware, scanners and cameras and it doesn't list the scanner there. HP USB printers and scanners has a bit of a problem in isntallation especially when the hardware goes in before the drivers and softwares.... I did put a new hard drive and i partitioned it with half win 7 32bit and it didn't recognize it there either. I also tried disabling the complete antivirus package during software installation and startup which made no difference, no update ever happens.When I plug in the usb cable, I get a message Yes No Sorry, something has gone wrong. I did everything you suggested and was able to scan using Start >Control Panel > Scanner & Cameras. Please note that the scanner works fine when used from another non HP software.
