One post I found suggested uninstalling InstallShield but I don't see it in my program files directory or in the add/remove programs control panel.

Several functions may not work. The Installshield Engine (ikernel.exe) Could Not Be Installed When I tried to reinstall quickbooks I still get the Installshield engine (iKernal.exe) could not be launched. He did not call me in then, but when he could no longer access his quickbooks files or Word files. There are several suggestions on how to fix it and I posted the one that working for me.
