ETA: Other applications get the same results. Ping Request Could Not Find Host Server 2012 It worked for me.. I had the ip set as 192.168.0.50 but i did not have anything set for default gateway.

My System Specs Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number homebuilt & dell & sgi OS Windows 7 x64, ultimate/pro/home, SLES x86 & ia64 CPU intel & amd Motherboard yes Memory yes Nslookup Works But Ping Fails Linux NSLookup still worked, but of course, ping failed to find the server (again, seemed like a DNS issue.)
